In August 1808, Sir Richard D. Henegan landed in Portugal as part of the British army sent to stop the French invasion of the Iberian Peninsula and put an end to Napoleon's Imperial ambitions. As a Military Commissary and later Ordnance Commissary in the Field Train, whose job was to transport and maintain the artillery and ammunition, Henegan offers an insight into the war from an unusual viewpoint.
