The book also considers the work of Myles na Gopaleen, whose Cruiskeen Lawn columns tapped into Dublin culture and humour for 26 years. Both writers emanated from civil servant Brian O'Nolan. It features the work of scholars in O'Brien studies as they approach his work in new and exciting ways. It also features a foreword written by O'Brien's brother, Micheal O Nuallain.
