When the author attended a psychic demonstration by a well-known clairvoyant, Alex Thalassiou, in Carlisle, she little guessed that he would seek to use his power to terrorise her and exploit her friend John, a medium, and his wife Carol. What followed took John to the brink of financial ruin, challenged his sexuality and almost ended his marriage.
