In Jackson's Shadow

Amidst the blood soaked remains of hideous warfare, noble battles won, and sometimes lost. Honoured to be ridden by Stonewall Jackson, his steed now recounts the impression he has of his master's prowess on the field of battle.

Stonewall rides this steed through some of the worst scenes of the dreaful war between the Confederates and the Union forces, which was only ended by Jackson's sad death, shot in error by his own men.

Chosen for strength and fleet footed ability, rather than beauty, the noble animal lives on for a further twenty or so years enjoying a peaceful life with Jackson's family, before he too, a much loved treasure, joins his master.
