Mike Humphrey's new novel concerns two survivors of a plane crash in the Alaskan Wilderness, their changing relationship and struggle to survive and ultimately return to civilisation. When a cargo aircraft carrying equipment to Barrow in Alaska crashes in the mountains killing both the crew the only survivors are Mike an oil worker on his way to Barrow and Sally the daughter of the oil company boss.
Mike has to cut Sally free from the wreckage and set her broken leg before they can look for shelter. Whilst the cargo plane is carrying lots of useful supplies, it becomes obvious that the couple cannot set out to return to civilisation, especially when Sally reveals she is pregnant.
Mike Humphrey's wonderful story follows Mike and Sally's struggle to survive for several years in the frozen mountains with their growing brood of children.
