This book chronicles his travels along this, the main pilgrims' walking route in Spain. Rather than walking, he cycles and regards the experience as a personal epiphany, even including the careful selection of a particularly punishing bike. (This is, after all, a pilgrimage!)

With detailed descriptions of the hardships and joys of cycling across Spain, his journal is entertaining and informative, telling us of the feelings and energies that come with different locations, the emotional changes in himself and his grief as he follows the pilgrims' route, and the wonderful places he discovers along the way, both geographically and spiritually, as he begins to come to terms with his loss and even makes friends with his bike.
