Blowing Smoke

Neal Caterski is a private detective who has reached both a professional and personal crossroads. Due to a past love affair with the wife of one of his city’s richest and most powerful men, his wife has left him, taking his only child with her. Old wounds are reopened when he takes on a case involving the married woman with whom he had the affair which ended his marriage. The case is barely even warm when she is found dead in an empty parking lot from a single bullet to the head. At first blush, the death seems to be an open and shut case of suicide. But soon after he begins his investigation, Caterski finds evidence of a cover up which runs all up to the highest echelons of local power. He is determined to see the case through to the bitter end, even if it the death of him. And this just might very well be more prophetic than he knows.
