Robert Burns in Edinburgh

The Old Town Tour covers locations from the Grassmarket to the north side of Princes Street, the Burns Monument to the east and to Greyfriars Kirkyard to the south of The Old Town. The Southside Tour reveals the affection that Burns had for this part of Edinburgh. During the ­research that went in to this book—and connected with it—was the discovery of a previously unknown portrait of Robert Burns by Alexander Nasmyth now known as “The Shaw Burns” and that story is told in this guide.
