European Competition Law Annual 2012: Regulation, Public Policies and Economic Distress

Every year, top-level market regulators, academics, and legal and economic practitioners contribute to the Annual Competition Workshop organized at the European University Institute in Florence. Workshop participants address and critically analyze a particular set of topical issues in the field of competition law and policy. The proceedings are published in the European Competition Law Annual series. This 17th volume of the series encompasses numerous chapters that examine competition policy and its relationships with regulatory and other public policies, against the general background of prolonged economic crisis. The contributors discuss legal and economic issues relating to network industries; industrial, environmental, and trade policy; and intellectual property and innovation policies, among others. Comparative views and the views of judges from different jurisdictions are provided, and techniques for mediating among different policy objectives and frameworks are discussed.
