Bodleian Library: A Subject Guide to the Collections

It has taken over 400 years for the Bodleian Library to accrue the largest collection of academic books in Britain. To commemorate the foundation of the library by Sir Thomas Bodley in 1602 this volume gathers together contributions by the staff of the library who each discuss a particular section of the collection. These cover a huge range of subjects, including classical studies, works of theology and philosophy, law and geography, science and music (to name but a few), and books from every corner of the globe and in every language.
