Author Biography: Josef Herman was a painter whose work is part of the permanent collections at the British Museum; the Victoria and Albert Museum; the Tate Gallery; the National Museum of Modern Art, Edinburgh; and the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff. He was made an Order of the British Empire in 1981 and elected to the Royal Academy in 1990.
