For most of the twentieth century, discussion of McTaggart has revolved around his notorious denial of the reality of time. Some Dogmas of Religion is a 'popular' exposition of his philosophy that provides an accessible route into the central elements of his fuller metaphysical system without becoming embroiled with this still contentious issue.

This edition now includes the emendations McTaggart made in his own personal copy and has been complemented with a new foreword and bibliography of McTaggart's works by Gerald Rochelle.
