Last Rights: Death, Dying and the Law in Ireland

Developing medical technology has placed a strain on traditional conceptions of death. This book examines the ways in which medical and legal professionals intervene between the individual and their death. Also examined is the shift in attitude in Irish society towards death and dying, and how recent legislation has impinged on issues such as treatment withdrawal, active euthanasia, and the right to die.
