For his birthday present, Christos is thrilled to be allowed to take his father's mackerel boat out to fish alone and then to camp overnight on a local island. However, the trip goes horribly wrong when he manages to run the fishing boat aground on the Great Barrier Reef—and attract a 12-foot tiger shark as company in the process. As the young boy sets in for the most harrowing night of his life, he must battle both nature and the elements in attempt to free himself from the reef—and to make sure he'll be alive to see the morning.
