Tales Along the King's Highway of South Carolina

In continuous use since colonial days, the King's Highway, now U.S. 17, is America's oldest road running from north to south. Named because of its early role as a coastal route for the English monarch's couriers, the King's Highway has played a part in intriguing stories about the Seewee Indians, participants in the American Revolution and the Civil War, pirates Stede Bonnet and Anne Bonny, and the ghosts at Old Gunn Church.
