Gerry Frank's Oregon

Gerry Frank's Oregon is a culmination of years of writing for The Oregonian Travel Section and getting to know the nooks and crannies of our state. Before I began writing travel articles, I spent a good part of my life as chief of staff to the late Senator Mark Hatfield; working together for a quarter-century, we visited every corner of Oregon's geography on constituent swings. Coming from a "department store" family with state roots before Oregon even was Oregon, I have been cajoled, and asked, and downright demanded upon, to write a book about the Meier & Frank Co. and adventures and opportunities that have come my way. I have compromised. I offer my recommendations of places to stay and eat, things to do and remind readers of intriguing folks (past and present) throughout Oregon, along with tidbits of state history and personal stories.
