The Sheridan Road Mystery: A Chicago Detective Story

Sheridan Road is a north-south route that parallels Lake Michigan's shoreline and Chicago's Outer Drive - and the Thornes are familiar with this area because this book is just one of several they have authored about Chicago and it's surroundings.

In this story, a policeman on his nightly rounds in one of Chicago's most exclusive residential areas, hears a gunshot... But after a full investigation is completed, there is no sign of a corpse. This greatly affects the credibility of the policeman and neighbors, who claim to have heard the shot and the scuffle.

To solve this mystery, the case is assigned to one of Chicago's finest, Detective Sergeant Dave Morgan.
