Stones and Marks

Physicist & photographer Elliston has been fascinated with the marks that human beings have made on stone for thousands of years. Traveling throughout Europe, North America, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East, he has documented pictographs, petroglyphs, monuments & inscription, in beautifully crafted black & white photographs. These images are accompanied by his concisely written text which describe their possible meanings & history, and his own reflections on our connection to the past.
