Poetry. Buck Downs is a master of the short lyric a la Berrigan, Myles, and Williams (that's Jonathan and William Carlos). TACHYCARDIA collects three years of his high-impact poiesis—this from "Eventox": "sharpie-lined page-a-days / recycling down / the equinox" and this from "Klepto Calypso": "I get results / I did not search." It's a maximal, jittery, kind, minimal lyric, the variable foot in scuffed and dusted boots.
