The Archaeology of Mendip: 500,000 years of change and continuity

This comprehensive and up-to-date book reviews the archaeology of Mendip both chronologically and thematically. This is the first publication of its kind to be devoted to the archaeology of this important region. Based upon the proceedings of a two-day conference held at the Bishops Palace in Wells, Somerset, this volume has as its focus the archaeology of the Mendip Hills and its environs. Around twenty contributors present the results of new research and new ideas about the rich archaeological sequence of the region, a sequence stretching back half a million years.
