History Of Queen Elizabeth's Hospital Bristol

Queen Elizabeth's Hospital, known traditionally as "The City School", is one of the oldest schools in Bristol. It was founded by the will of affluent merchant John Carr in 1586, gaining its first Royal Charter in 1590.
