The Forbidden Dream of the Forbidden City

Ji Zu initially lived an idyllic life in a secluded village. Her fate was changed completely when her beauty caught the attention of the young commander of a Chinese in pursuit of the Japanese. Years later during the Cultural Revolution, her charm still mesmerized one of the Red Guards, Yu Di, who helped save her from the denunciation rally. Yu He-tao and Yu He-bao, twin brothers with completely different characters - one a law enforcer and the other a sympathizer of the students' pro-democracy movement which took place in Peking near the end of the twentieth century.
