Dividing Lines

Dividing Lines opens on a common, everyday occurrence: two men enter a skyscraper elevator early one morning. They are in London’s Four Freedoms Tower, and it appears to be a perfectly average, run-of-the-mill day. Then the elevator car screeches to a halt.
 
Neil Blower’s thrilling, suspenseful novel throws us into the inner minds of these two wildly different men as they react to each other and the situation in which they find themselves. One of them is a Manchester advertising executive, in London on business and staying at the tower. The second is an Islamic extremist and member of Al-Qaeda, who plans on conducting a suicide bombing in the city. As they interact throughout the novel, both men grapple with flashback memories leading to devastating self-critiques of their lives and the greater human race. A vivid, compassionate novel, Dividing Lines raises some of the most complex and poignant questions of our day: What, if anything, unites us as a species? And is there a better way of living together on this earth?
