As a young man with an interest in mysticism the author John Allenby was introduced to the books of Carlos Castaneda, who, as a student of anthropology at UCLA in California, met Don Juan, a Yaqui Indian sorcerer: a witch doctor or shaman, who taught Castaneda how to become 'a man of knowledge'. Castaneda wrote a series of books about his 'apprenticeship'.
With a subsequent study of Castaneda's work, over a period of years, the author became unwittingly initiated into the terrifying world of sorcery. This eventually led him to discover some esoteric knowledge, akin to the knowledge being expounded in Castaneda's books: a significant discovery of infinite value to anyone seeking to realise their full potential.
Allenby does not claim to have made a comprehensive study of Castaneda's work, but he believes he has nevertheless been able to prove its authenticity and validity, which has often been called into question.
