The latter part of the 1960s saw the advent of a small, short-lived genre of Vietnam War-related cinema – the “peacenik/draft-dodger” movie, in which student anti-war demonstrations and ruses used by America’s youth to avoid conscription were used as plot devices in films ranging from the underground to teen exploitation and arthouse productions.
