Human rights for those living in the UK are now no longer the same for everybody. Since July 2012 our human rights, and lack of them, are now based on how much we earn.

Your ability to be with the person you love depends, if you are from different countries, on how much your salary is - even if you have enough to support you both. And if you have children together, the economic discrimination is even greater. Children are growing up in the UK without one of their parents... Because the UK parent is not deemed wealthy enough to have a foreign spouse.

The 2012 Family Immigration Law breaches our human rights under Article 8 of the European Union Convention on Human Rights. In the face of this violation, extraordinary people in the UK and across the globe are doing everything they can to keep their love alive across borders, mountains and oceans. They show a courage and humanity, and a belief in love that demonstrates what it is to be human.
