Emphasising durability and truth to materials, the humanistic integrity of Scandinavian and Nordic Modernism resonated culturally with Canada, such as the iconic functionality of Danish designer Arne Jacobsen and the organic simplicity of renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.
