If you don’t know who your real parents are, it’s the most natural thing to want to find them. That’s what Charlie Riley thought. She had been adopted as a baby, had no knowledge of her birth parents, and was now happily married with her own family.

And so following the death of her adoptive parents, Charlie employs a private detective to find her birth mother. The investigation is complex, but when Charlie eventually learns who her birth mother is, she also discovers an unpalatable truth, a truth that could destroy her marriage and her relationship with her children.

Worse still, now the fact is out everyone wants a piece of Charlie.
