This is a true story of one young person who, too early, stepped up to become a man. He had to! His love for his mother, twin sister, and other siblings persuaded him to take steps that one could hardly imagine in this day and age.
This book is not just another war story; it's the story of loyalty, respect, and determination on the part of a naïve and gentle young man, who travelled half way around the world to support his family and serve his country.
He worked hard, minded his own business, and did what he had to do. During World War II, he wore three different badges from two different services: air force and army!
This often whimsical and light-hearted excursion into the past reacquaints us with the stoic and resilient will of youth, as we visit a time in our history that begs to be retold.
"It gives us a close up, very personal look at the encounters of a teenager at war." -Mitch Huyghebaert
"This book would make a great movie!" -The Keith Rempel Family
