Fire Walkers

Following Ethiopia's revolution, fourteen-year-old Beth flees Addis Ababa with her family by taxi and then on foot for the Indian Ocean city of Djibouti, and from there as refugees to Canada. Here she describes the harrowing journey across the burning Danakil Desert, in which they are betrayed by their trusted guides and helped by desert nomads.
