'Abdu'L-Bahá in America is the account of the journey of Abdu'l-Bahá, eldest son of Baháulláh and appointed head of the Báhaí Faith after his father's passing, across much of the United States in 1912. His exhausting yet exhilarating 239-day trek from coast to coast took him to fifty cities and towns, where he delivered up to four talks a day—about four hundred total to approximately ninety-three thousand people about Baháu'lláh's message of the oneness of humanity and the principles of universal peace. This historic visit to the United States planted the seeds that would take root and germinate into the present-day American Baha'í community.

Author Robert H. Stockman has meticulously researched the journey of 'Abdu'l-Bahá' by combing through a vast array of sources including the diary of 'Abdu'l-Bahá's traveling companion, which describes almost ever major event during the journey as well as many private scenes and frank comments by 'Abdu'l-Bahá' Stockman's extensive research also includes the examination of newspaper and magazine articles published at the time of this historic visit, as well as hundreds of pages of unpublished telegrams, letters, diaries, and memoirs.
