Barns Around Iowa: A Sampling of Iowa's Round Barns

When Luella retired as a worker at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, about 20 years ago, she took a copy of the State Historical Society of Iowa's book, "Without Right Angles" by Lowell Soike to see the listings of round barns in Iowa. Camera in hand, Luella set out for over a decade finding the barns and photographing them in color. This 6x9 book of 128 pages preserves approx. 100 round and multi-sided barns in color county by county. County map of locations included.
