The Good Library Manual is a practical guide to transforming any public library-large or small, city or rural-by making every aspect of the library experience appealing and enjoyable, from the moment someone sees the building and walks in the door to the time when they check out. The author, Tim Coates, began his career with WH Smith and was managing director of Waterstone's, the largest U.K. specialist bookseller, and has become known as "an outspoken champion of the absolutely central place of books in libraries." The Good Library Manual was created in conjunction with the Good Library Blog, which is read by thousands every week and archived by the British Library.
