Divided They Stood

Some call is the War Between the States. A few folks in the south may still call it the War of Northern Agression. But most call it the Civil War. Whatever you call it, the war that divided our country was bloody, brutal and heartbreaking. And for Kentucky, the Civil War took a special sadness as families and communities were divided over slavery, states, rights and a way of life. Many didn't survive. Those that did were never the same.
