Mama, Please!

Meesha: The first week of tenth grade and I already got drama. Jazzy, my best friend, is acting crazy just because I'm tryna tell her about how these dudes really feel about her. I mean, she not exactly undercover about what she does. Then my mama start trippin' about every little thing. She is really getting on my nerves. I don't know why she can't just be cool, like my dad. I swear that lady picks on me. It's all good, though. Despite all that, I think I have made some new associates and one of them has a car. If I be good this year, I will have mine, too. So, Ima jus wait it out and be an angel until my mama hands me those keys...

Cathy: It feels so good being at the top of my game in the advertising business, especially getting those looks from the college graduates when I am doing better than them. I have accomplished so much; I have a happy relationship with my husband and daughter; with the exception of the attitudes. I'm not too excited about this school year. My mother's intuition tells me that this is going to be a very difficult year.
