Maddie Price is at the end of her rope, and the clock is ticking. With only a few hours left to catch up with the handsome con man who left her at the altar and ran off with her life savings, she's stranded on Cape Cod in a killer rain storm with a flat tire and a vicious dog threatening to rip out her throat. Famous playwright Robert Kendall's life on Cape Cod is anything but calm and uneventful. His Chinese live-in housekeeper has a drinking problem, and his best friend, an actor, sets out to prove he's the perfect choice to play the part of a cross-dressing drag queen in Robert's new play. Regardless of the chaos surrounding him, Robert takes everything in stride - until he rescues Maddie in the storm. Finding her irresistible, Robert is willing to do whatever it takes to make her forget the man who abandoned her, and think only of him.

The only problem is, Maddie doesn't trust her instincts after being conned. With Robert seemingly interested in a mysterious fiery redhead, Maddie can't believe she's the only woman in his life.
