"Growing Up Stories" is a quartet of humorous short stories of life as seen through the eyes of a poor, Black, pre-school youngster growing up in 1930s and 1940s segregated Oklahoma.

This book is absolutely delightful reading for youthful readers and those who are young at heart. It provides educational background for those young folks who know very little about what life was like "way back when." For more senior readers it offers a nostalgic flash back to a time when life was simpler.
