I Was Born A Cowboy

I have always enjoyed life. Now I cherish it. Surviving a near death experience that baffled some of the best doctors available can bring about reflections, unknown to those who have not. Through this experience I felt compelled to share my story. Not just the story of the miracle, but my early life that was full of experiences that prepared me for some of the hard times I was to face later. I wanted to know about my roots. I wanted to find out the stories of my ancestors and what made them tick. What did they face that helped forge my life so many decades later? Who were the people that raised my parents and grandparents? Could their stories have shaped who I am?

It is in answer to those questions that the idea for this book was born. I have researched my family. I found a thread of physical conditions. I have basked in the delightful memories of childhood. I have wept at the memory of losses and trials. In this reflection, I have realized that my life is God-given. It has not been ordinary but extraordinary as are all lives created by God Himself – Creator of all.
