The voices that plagued Cain's childhood are back, though rather than landing him in an institution, this time they've helped him land a gig with a Hollywood film crew.

But Cain's abilities have also attracted the attention of a renegade plastic surgeon, who is as interested in building a perfect human race as he is in making the rich and famous more beautiful.

With his childhood best friend in tow, Cain leaves the safety of small town Smithton to reclaim his job in LA. In doing so, he wades deeper into the conflict between two very different groups, with two very different ideas about humanity and its destiny.
