German Occupation of Poland

Written in 1942, this reports the desperate circumstances of Polish Jews, one million of whom had already been murdered. Here are detailed lists, names, dates and circumstances of Nazis brutality toward innocent men, women, and children-the forced deportations into overcrowded ghettos where starvation and disease were commonplace; the thousands of Jews murdered in Polish towns (lists are provided with names and locations); the change in execution tactics from shootings to poisoning by gas; Heinrich Himmler's personal involvement in liquidating the Warsaw Ghetto and the final transports to the death camps. It was written as a plea for help to the world community because there were still two million Polish Jews hoping for rescue.
