In Ramsey's play, The Interview, an interaction takes place between characters that mirrors the struggle of Sisyphus. Sisyphus was, according to Homer, a wise mortal who spurned the idea of death and mocked the Gods. As punishment, he spent a life in the Underworld, eternally forced to push a boulder up a hill. When the boulder reached the top, it rolled back down, and his task started again. Such as Sisyphus, the characters in the play are seemingly trapped in the menial tasks of business and struggle with the question of whether to remain or seek escape.
