There are wondrous books of stories such as The Canterbury Tales and Arabian Nights, and now add The Moment of Capture. Liminality, that crucial "space in between" beginning and ending of a story, burgeons for each poem here included with pathos, intrigue, poignancy, jocularity, and much more, as we are swept along from a corner cantina, down Highway I-10, and to other-worldly places as well. This is writing for the 21st century, deriving its power to move the reader from poetry's essence, which, stripped of the accretions and artifices acquired over time, relies on the same stuff of life evoked by the ancient Greek poets, and significant poets down through the ages. Unique to humans and integral to our humanity is the creating and practice of presenting the well-told story. Reading this book will give ample proof that there are still masters of the craft.
