In a grand bid to preserve the royal bloodline, warlord General Moroto has personally trained Yamabuki, his daughter and last surviving child, in the art of war and rulership. Not-yet seventeen years old, Yamabuki travels in the guise of an ordinary samurai, heading for the capital carrying secret dispatches in her first real-world test. However, a rival faction has send ninja to make sure she never gets there alive.

Arriving in a lawless town where many are not who or what they seem, Yamabuki struggles to come to terms with the blood on her hands. And meets a man who aims to change the course of history.
