Give Me Tomorrow

This is the story of three generations of an American family and their circle of friends during traumatic events of World War II. Bright Star and her husband, Steve, work to establish a school at the Cree village. Marie, a blind teacher, becomes a beloved member of the school staff. Her new husband, Captain Scott Taylor, is called to serve in the Korean War and is seriously wounded. Arlo is also called and is a witness to Scott's courageous efforts in Korea. This story visits their struggles on the battlefield sites where conflicts raged, and their return to the peaceful settlement of Fort Lewis where broken minds and bodies can renew themselves in the solitude of the vast forest wilderness. It is a story of love, courage, and sacrifice that will long be remembered by those who value those virtues that defined the generations who fought to defend the free nations of the world.

FORT LEWIS SERIES
Fort Lewis is a fictional Cree Indian village in the vast Canadian boreal forest on the shores of the beautiful Lake Diamante. It has a Hudson Bay Store, a Catholic Church, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police barracks, and a newly-built infirmary. The Crees are in a transition period trying to adapt to modern civilization. The infirmary was established by Bright Cloud, a beautiful Cree nurse who saw the need for a medical facility to care for her people. For centuries they have survived the brutal winters with plunging temperatures and deep snows. They had traditionally followed the reindeer herds which provided them with sustenance and shelter. Survival has been their greatest achievement. It's a tribute to their woodland skills, undaunted courage, and a triumph of the human spirit.
