Reflections for Daily Living

In any good sermon, the “word” has to “take flesh,” or it remains a mere ideology. In Reflections for Daily Living, Rev. Fr. Jude Thaddeus Ikenna Osunkwo seeks to satisfy the ultimate goal of a good sermon, which should be to lead people into a loving and intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, a relationship that forms the character of their persons; to help people see the sermon’s connections with daily life; and to guide people in living out their Christian faith.

In Reflections for Daily Living, Fr. Osunkwo has applied and juxtaposed the four major traditional senses of interpreting the Sacred Scripture that are available to preachers: the Literal or Historical Sense, or the intended meaning by the biblical author; the Allegorical Sense, such as reading into biblical events and symbols like the Red Sea and baptism; the Moral Sense, which is how scripture guides us to act justly; and the Anagogical Sense that relates biblical events and symbols to eternal destiny.

Reflections for Daily Living aims to illumine the human mind, touch the human heart, and influence human actions positively.
