The Family Mark

In rural 19th century Norway, Johanna Guldberg is coming of age. She is the daughter of the village sheriff, and heiress to the finest farm in the Flatlands: Great Guldberg. Johanna has her heart set on marrying her childhood friend, Gunnar, but her father does not approve.

Johanna is a strong-willed, intelligent young woman, driven by her passions but limited by demands of her society. Will she obey her father's wishes, or defy him to marry the man she thinks she loves? Or will the terrible secret her father has been hiding all their lives tear both families apart?
