His claim to authorship was expressly stated in chapter 1:1 “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints and to the faithful.” and also in chapter 3:1 where he states: “I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles.”
