In a world where five American teenagers suddenly possess the magic of their video game characters -- ISIS better say their prayers.

When lightning irradiates Team Valor, led by Charlie Hayes, five video game players find themselves able to use the magic of their game characters.  But, there's no time to plan, practice, or recover from the lightning that transformed them.  ISIS has kidnapped a squad of Marines and is beheading one man every eight hours. 

And Charlie's brother, Rick, is one of those men.
