The Records of Kosho the Toad

Follow the journeys short and long of Kosho the toad as he lives “the gift / and the burden / of his own breathing.” These poems made me smile and appreciate the simplicity and quiet urgency of things as they are. Like Kosho, I lost myself in the doing and the spirituality of things. Robert Tremmel begins The Record of Kosho the Toad with this inscription by John Daido Loori: Those who accept words are lost; those who linger in phrases are deluded. No paragraphs in this lean book of poems but plenty of wit and wisdom to lose yourself in, and plenty of language surprises to make you appreciate Tremmel’s quiet craft.
