This story of a girl under the alias of Ellen recounting incidents of childhood through teens wheere she came to distrust all males due to sexual abuse. From an uncle to dad's drinking buddies to her father himself, she developed a strong distrust of all relationships. Coupled with this, however, was a strong trust in God which carried her along. The impact on her attitude toward dating was pronounced and she struggled to develop rules to keep herself safe. Mixed in are touching accounts of childhood friends and activities growing up on Prince Edward Island in the 1940s and '50s. Combined with all this first-hand history are frequent bits of advice to both parents nd children today.
